36 Days of Type was a global project that invited designers, illustrators, and visual artists to express their unique interpretation of the letters and numbers of the Latin alphabet. Traditionally, the challenge was to design a letter or number for 36 consecutive days.

As a design student in the COVID era, I was fortunate to have the time to attempt this challenge. To motivate myself, I decided to make this my final project for my motion design class. The prompts for each letterform varied – some had meaning while others were created with the first thought in mind. Sound design was also added to give these animations a bit of depth to their narratives.

There was no design system in place for this challenge; rather, it was an expression of my early explorations in motion design.
